Terms, Conditions & Privacy Policy

Commercial Gas Systems Ltd - Terms & Conditions

Orders are accepted subject to the following conditions. Please check your billing and address details are correct. If incorrect, please email us with correct details at info@cgsys.co.uk.

Guarantees & Warranty

  1. All works carried out by Commercial Gas Systems Ltd has a twelve-month guarantee on our labour.
  2. The boiler which you have chosen to be installed is guaranteed by the manufacturer, which covers parts and labour subject to a yearly boiler service. Please see the example manufacturer warranty terms below for more detail.

Pricing & Payment

  1. The contract price quoted is conditional upon acceptance in writing within twelve weeks of the date of the estimate and only includes the works specified.
  2. A deposit of 50% of the labour cost and 100% of materials costs is required before work can commence so parts can be ordered in advance.
  3. If parking permits are required, it is the responsibility of the client to supply them. If the client cannot supply these, then parking charges will be added to the final price.
  4. Full payment is required within 14 days on completion of the works.
  5. All card payments carry a 0% surcharge.
  6. The boiler manufacturer warranty and Gas Safe building regulation certificate will only be issued once full payment has been made.

Cancellations, Delays & Alterations

  1. The works will be carried out as soon as possible. However, we cannot accept responsibility for any delay which may be caused by inclement weather, non-availability of materials, or any other circumstances beyond our control.
  2. We reserve the right to refuse to accept cancellation of an order where we have placed specific orders for materials or services provided. A 20% restocking fee will apply.
  3. The customer has the right to cancel up to two days prior to the work commencing. After this time, the 20% deposit taken will automatically become non-refundable.
  4. When making any alterations to existing heating or domestic plumbing, we can only guarantee the work and materials which we supply and fit. Any failure to existing pipe work, valves, radiators, washers etc., are not covered, but we will be pleased to quote for any necessary rectification work.

Site, Materials & Waste

  1. All scrap metal, cylinders, radiators and boilers will be removed and disposed of by the contractor. This excludes any steel water tanks in the loft; these will be made redundant and left safe.
  2. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to dispose of any rubbish generated from the job. All rubbish will be bagged up and the site made tidy upon completion of the works. We will take any cardboard as this can be recycled.

General Conditions

  1. All work is Subject to an onsite survey.
  2. Commercial Gas Systems Ltd reserve the right to alter any of the above terms and conditions, although the customer will be notified within a reasonable time frame of any changes.
  3. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Complaints Procedure

Where we cannot resolve any complaints using our own complaints procedure, as a Which? Trusted Trader we use Dispute Resolution Ombudsman for dispute resolution. Example Manufacturer's Boiler Warranty (Vaillant)

The following terms are an example from a boiler manufacturer (Vaillant) and are separate from our own labour guarantee. The specific terms for your boiler will be provided by its manufacturer.

  1. Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer within 6 months of the boiler's dispatch.
  2. The Benchmark logbook must be completed by the installer and retained on site.
  3. The guarantee commences from the date of installation, validated by proof of purchase or the completed Benchmark logbook.
  4. The boiler guarantee must be registered within 30 days of installation, otherwise it will revert to 12 months.
  5. The boiler must be serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Service details must be recorded in the Benchmark logbook. The cost of servicing is not included.
  6. The guarantee applies only to boiler component failures and does not cover external central heating system components.
  7. The guarantee covers material and labour charges for repairs carried out by the manufacturer or their authorised engineer. Third-party invoices will not be accepted unless pre-authorised.
  8. The guarantee on replacement parts does not extend the original guarantee period.
  9. Failures caused by contaminated water (sludge, limescale etc.) are not covered and will be chargeable.
  10. The guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, or failure to follow operating instructions.
  11. Installation in mobile leisure accommodation vehicles (e.g., boats, caravans) is not covered.
  12. Non-boiler or external system faults will be charged to you and could invalidate your guarantee. Abortive charges may apply if our engineers cannot gain safe access to the property or boiler.
  13. The use of any non-genuine manufacturer spare parts will invalidate the guarantee.
  14. This guarantee is valid for domestic dwellings in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands.
  15. For installations over 70kW, additional requirements apply, including system separation via a plate heat exchanger and specific water treatment protocols.

The right to be informed

Individuals have the right to know why and how their personal data is being processed. Our privacy policy ensures we protect this right.

The right of access

You have the right to ask for a copy of all the information we hold about you (a subject access request). We will provide this information within one month, free of charge, unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

The right to rectification

You have the right to have your information corrected if you believe it is factually inaccurate. If we have shared incorrect information with another organisation, we will take reasonable steps to inform them of the correction.
